Softball Game Preview: Gardiner Tigers vs. Cony Rams

Gardiner is 9-1 against Cony since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Gardiner will be strutting in after a victory while Cony will be coming in after a defeat.

Gardiner came out on top against Leavitt on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Tigers took their matchup against the Hornets 9-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Gardiner got a massive performance out of TARYN NICHOLS, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave NICHOLS a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of ZOEY EPPERSON, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Cony came up short against Belfast on Monday and fell 7-3. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gardiner's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Cony, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Gardiner couldn't quite get it done against Cony when the teams last played back in May as they fell 5-2. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
