Softball Game Preview: Glendale Nitros vs. South Pasadena Tigers

The Glendale Nitros will face off against the South Pasadena Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Glendale is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Glendale came into this matchup off a tough 17-run loss on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Bell Gardens by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday.

Brooke Aldrete made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Paola Marquez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Aldrete wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Glendale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. This was only their first loss (out of six games) when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, South Pasadena had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Heritage Christian last Wednesday, falling 12-2.

Talula Bearden was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1. As for South Pasadena, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-1.

Glendale suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to South Pasadena in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can Glendale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
