Baseball Preview: Revere Minutemen vs. Aurora Greenmen
The Revere Minutemen will be playing at home against the Aurora Greenmen at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Revere is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Canton Central Catholic just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 15-5 to the Crusaders.
Revere saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Geoffrey Siess, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Gartland, who went 1-for-1 with a triple and a run.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Aurora ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past Roosevelt 6-5. Winning may never get old, but Aurora sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Jayce Unverferth and AJ Cifani dominated on the mound. Unverferth tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Cifani struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.
