Soccer Game Preview: Frenship vs. Permian

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Frenship challenge Permian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Frenship is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Frenship's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Odessa as Frenship made off with a 4-0 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by three goals or more this season.

They hit Odessa with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Zeta McDannels (2), Baye Biddix, and Lily Stone.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Permian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Midland Legacy on Tuesday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Rebels are ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Frenship pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those nine contests. As for Permian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Frenship took their win against Permian in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 4-1. Will Frenship repeat their success, or does Permian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
