Baseball Recap: Mather Rangers vs. Westinghouse Warriors
Mather waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Westinghouse Warriors. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.
Jadier Castillo and Caden Krabill made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Castillo tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Krabill struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Castillo has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, David Goytia was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Mather is 9-4 when Goytia posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-5 otherwise. Aaron Roman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
