Basketball Recap: Granbury Comes Up Short

Granbury extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-22. They fell 67-54 to the Saginaw Rough Riders. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rough Riders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

As for Saginaw, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games.

Saginaw's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eugene Roseberry, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. What's more, Roseberry posted three assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2025. Another player making a difference was Brian Armes, who scored 11 points.

Coincidentally, Granbury and Saginaw will both be playing Azle the next time they take the court. The Rough Riders will head out to face the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Pirates will host them at 7:30 p.m. on the 30th.
