Baseball Game Preview: Paetow Panthers vs. Seven Lakes Spartans

The Paetow Panthers will take on the Seven Lakes Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Paetow is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Cinco Ranch just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 8-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Seven Lakes entered their tilt with Jordan on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 8-2 win.

James Levin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dario Becerra and Christian Villamizar did most of the damage at the plate: Becerra went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Villamizar scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those three RBI gave Becerra a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Nannini, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Seven Lakes' victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Paetow, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10-1.

Paetow couldn't quite finish off Seven Lakes in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 14-12. Can Paetow avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
