Basketball Recap: Westview Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Westview entered their tilt with Mountainside on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They strolled past the Mountainside Mavericks with points to spare, taking the game 56-40. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Mavericks are ranked 54th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westview pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points over those games. As for Mountainside, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westview will venture away from home to challenge Southridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Southridge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Mountainside, they will head out to square off against Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th.
