Basketball Recap: David Emanuel Academy Comes Up Short

David Emanuel Academy lost against Trinity Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The David Emanuel Academy Eagles lost 69-44 to Trinity Christian. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, David Emanuel Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tucker Free posted 17 points and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Free. Brayden Lawson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first point of the season.

Even though they lost, David Emanuel Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Isaac Sherrod continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Trinity Christian, putting up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Suchovsky, who scored 12 points.

David Emanuel Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Trinity Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

David Emanuel Academy will head out on the road to square off against Covenant Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian has already played their next contest, a 68-63 defeat against The Habersham School on the 16th.
