Softball Recap: South Putnam Eagles vs. Seeger Patriots

On Saturday, the South Putnam Eagles got the win against the Seeger Patriots by a conclusive 16-1.

Braylin Boruff made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Boruff was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Madison Carpenter was incredible, going 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBI, and a run. Danae Cline was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

On Seeger's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marianne Whorrall, who went 1-for-2 with a double.

The victory got South Putnam back to even at 2-2. As for Seeger, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

South Putnam didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-7 win vs. Southmont on the 6th. As for Seeger, they will head out on the road to square off against North Vermillion at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seeger is facing North Vermillion at the right time seeing as North Vermillion is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
