Football Recap: Pioneer Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Pioneer and Huron meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Pioneers fell 21-14 to the River Rats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pioneers of the 28-26 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Huron, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Pioneer will head out on the road to challenge Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Huron, they will welcome Saline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The River Rats will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
