Basketball Recap: Freedom Comes Up Short

Freedom lost against Patriot back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Freedom Eagles fell 66-55 to the Patriot Pioneers.

Patriot was led to victory by Ethan Kacou and Jamison Ross. Kacou went 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds, while Ross posted ten points in addition to six boards and three blocks. Those 13 points gave Kacou a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Madrigal, who had five points and five rebounds.

Freedom now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Patriot, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Freedom and Gainesville will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Patriot, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 87-83 victory against Landon on the 14th.
