Basketball Recap: American Leadership Academy Beats Sonoran Science Academy for Their Third Straight Victory

If Sonoran Science Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played American Leadership Academy, they should've done a better job of containing CJ Christopher Williams. American Leadership Academy simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Sonoran Science Academy 69-34 thanks in part to Williams, who went 8 of 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 47 points in addition to six assists and six boards. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of American Leadership Academy's points.

The win was the third in a row for American Leadership Academy, bringing their record for this year to 11-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points per game. As for Sonoran Science Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Leadership Academy and 91st Psalm Christian School will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Sonoran Science Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against New Way Learning Academy at 5:30 p.m.
