Baseball Recap: North Star Sets Scoring Season-High Against Glendale

The third road game was the charm for North Star, as they earned their first away victory of the season. Everything went their way against the Glendale Vikings on Wednesday as they made off with an 11-0 win. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Not much got past Bryson Durst, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Glendale off the board.

At the plate, Brady Meyers was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Retassie, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

North Star always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the victory, North Star broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6. As for Glendale, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Coming up, North Star will be taking part in a tournament against Derry at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Glendale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Carroll at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.82 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
