Recap: Cole Cougars vs. Randolph Ro-Hawks
The Cole Cougars came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 37-25 victory over Randolph. Given Cole's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while Randolph is ranked 806th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cole got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamyra Childs out in front who scored ten points along with two steals. Childs has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Kendall Gonzales was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
Cole's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Randolph, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-14.
Cole will head out on the road to square off against Great Hearts Northern Oaks at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Great Hearts Northern Oaks is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Randolph, they will be playing at home against Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
