Basketball Recap: Freedom Life Academy Skates Past Mount Olive Christian with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freedom Life Academy). They blew past Mount Olive Christian 55-22 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Freedom Life Academy was led to victory by Ian Sanders and Terrell Davis. Sanders dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds, while Davis shot 50% from the field to rack up 16 points along with eight boards and six blocks. With that strong performance, Davis is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. Landin McDonald was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Freedom Life Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Freedom Life Academy's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Mount Olive Christian, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Coming up, Freedom Life Academy will challenge John Paul the Great Academy at 7:20 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Olive Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Union Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 1.
