Football Game Preview: Holy Cross Lancers vs. Princeton Tigers

The Holy Cross Lancers will head out to challenge the Princeton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Holy Cross came up short against Riverside and fell 28-21. The game marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Holy Cross got top-tier performance from Vincent Gilliam, who picked up 111 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Gilliam showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 52 yards.

Meanwhile, Princeton owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They strolled past Robbinsville with points to spare, taking the game 14-0. That 14 point margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

The critical scores for Princeton came from Andrew Foreman and Ellinton Hinds.

Princeton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Foreman and Hinds.

The victory made it two in a row for Princeton and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points in those games. As for Holy Cross, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.

Holy Cross couldn't quite finish off Princeton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 and fell 3-0. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
