Basketball Recap: Lake Region Takes a Loss

Lake Region lost against Discovery back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lake Region Thunder had to suffer through a 66-27 loss at the hands of the Discovery Spartans. The Thunder were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.

Discovery's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaiden Zenkner led the charge by going 5 for 6 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds. Isaac Redding was another key player, going 7 of 9 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

Lake Region has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Discovery, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Region will face off against George Jenkins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. George Jenkins will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lake Region surely won't give up without a fight. As for Discovery, they will take on Davenport at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Discovery's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
