Baseball Recap: Parkview Gets the Win

Parkview took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Palmyra-Eagle, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Panthers 6-5 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Panthers back in April, they had to take a 7-0 loss.

Mathias Treinen was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Parkview has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Palmyra-Eagle, their record now sits at 14-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Parkview will square off against rival Rio at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Palmyra-Eagle is set to face off against their familiar foe Fall River at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
