Football Recap: Woodstock Takes a Loss

Woodstock and Morris squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Woodstock had to settle for second. They were dealt a 54-7 loss at the hands of Morris. The Blue Streaks have struggled against Morris recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Morris was led to victory by Brady Varner and Caeden Curran. Varner threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, while Curran rushed for 127 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most passing yards Varner has posted since back in November of 2024. Anthony Smith also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

Woodstock's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Morris, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Woodstock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morris, they will face off against Metamora at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Curran and Jaiduan Cranford.
