 The South Side Hornet will head out on the road to  take on  the Dover Pirates at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. South Side's pitching crew has only allowed three  runs per game  this season, so Dover's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
 South Side is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout  on Thursday, just like they did against Sloan-Hendrix (and have done all season long). Everything went South Side's way against Sloan-Hendrix on Monday as South Side made off with  an  8-0 victory.
 The result came thanks to  Ali Goodwin's shutout, as she gave up just two  hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
 At the plate,  Lina Sullivan was  excellent,  going 4-for-5 with two  stolen bases and  an  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Alexis Lankford, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, while it was Dover who put the first points on the board on Wednesday, it was Scranton who put up more. Dover fell  4-1 to Scranton. Having soared to a lofty 21  runs in the game before, Dover couldn't push the score so high this time.
  Addisyn Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four  runs (all of which were unearned)  on five hits.
 On the hitting side, Dover saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Mackenzie Spradlin, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 South Side's win bumped their record up to 16-7-1. As for Dover, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost 11 of their last 14 matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record  this season.
 South Side came up short against Dover in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023, falling  10-5. Can South Side avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
