Football Recap: Mansfield Summit Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Mansfield Summit unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Lewisville Farmers 34-7 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Farmers are ranked 22nd).

Despite the loss, Mansfield Summit still got an impressive performance from Adarion Nettles, who rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries.

Lewisville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tre Williams, who threw for 197 yards and three TDs while completing 83.9% of his passes. Traejan Mueller was another key player, gaining 94 total yards.

Coming up, Mansfield Summit will take on Mansfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lewisville, they will challenge Byron Nelson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
