Football Recap: Mansfield Summit Falls to Lewisville in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Mansfield Summit unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Lewisville Farmers on Friday, falling 34-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 51-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mansfield Summit lost, don't look at Adarion Nettles. Despite the final result, he rushed for 93 yards and one TD on only 13 carries.

Lewisville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tre Williams led the charge by throwing for 197 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.9% of his passes. Traejan Mueller was another key player, gaining 94 total yards.

Mansfield Summit didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 27-14 win against Mansfield on the 5th. As for Lewisville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 38-21 victory against Byron Nelson on the 4th.
