Crete-Monee has gone 9-1 against Rich Township recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Raptors at 4:30 p.m. Crete-Monee has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Crete-Monee is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 22 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Oak Lawn on Friday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 18-2. The Warriors have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Crete-Monee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariana Kovacs, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rich Township waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Wildcats 21-5. Considering the Raptors have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
ReAnn Clark was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Syriah Hill, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Rich Township always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .568 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Crete-Monee's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Rich Township, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Crete-Monee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Rich Township struggles in that department as they've averaged .372. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Crete-Monee took their win against Rich Township in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
