Basketball Game Preview: Rise Kohyang Tritons vs. View Park Knights

The Rise Kohyang Tritons will be taking part in a tournament against the View Park Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rise Kohyang is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.

Rise Kohyang is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Esperanza College Prep: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Rise Kohyang blew Esperanza College Prep out of the water with a 60-18 final score. With the Tritons ahead 36-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Rise Kohyang's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was I Joey, who went 8 of 14 en route to 18 points and five steals. Joey is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Meza, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 10 points.

Meanwhile, View Park waltzed into their game last Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Monarchs by a score of 42-31.

Rise Kohyang's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.3 points per game. As for View Park, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.
