A well-balanced attack led Mt. Vernon over Carbondale in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Rams blew the Terriers out of the water with a 66-30 final score. The Rams pushed the score to 63-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Terriers had no chance of recovering from.

Mt. Vernon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cale Maurer led the charge by going 5-for-12 en route to 14 points and five rebounds. Maurer is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. David Barnes was another key player, shooting 54% from the field to rack up 19 points.

The win was the third in a row for Mt. Vernon, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 54.0 points this season. As for Carbondale, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
