Basketball Recap: Hope Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Hope Christian Academy lost against Westwood Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hope Christian Academy Lions fell 39-26 to the Westwood Christian Warriors. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tripp Kirkland was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 16 boards for Westwood Christian. Kirkland has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jake Kirkland, who posted ten points and five steals.

Hope Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Westwood Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Hope Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westwood Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on February 25th.
