Volleyball Recap: Mater Bay Academy Comes Up Short

Mater Bay Academy was the 3-1 winner over Pinecrest Glades Academy when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rays lost 3-0 to the Dragons on Wednesday. The Rays' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

While Mater Bay Academy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17, 25-21.

Mater Bay Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Pinecrest Glades Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-11.

Looking ahead, Mater Bay Academy will square off against Somerset College Prepartory Academy South at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pinecrest Glades Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Varela at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
