Softball Recap: Lone Oak Comes Up Short

Lone Oak managed to slip by Ford the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Buffaloes came up short against the Panthers on Saturday, falling 15-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Buffaloes have suffered since April 11, 2025.

This is the second loss in a row for Lone Oak and nudges their season record down to 4-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1-1 Bonham (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72% over those games). As for Ford, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4-1.

Coming up, Lone Oak will look to defend their home field on Monday against Sulphur Springs at 6:00 p.m. The Buffaloes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Ford, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Bonham on the 21st.
