Basketball Game Preview: Pawhuska Huskies vs. Tulsa CHEF

Pawhuska is 3-0 against Tulsa CHEF since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Pawhuska Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against Tulsa CHEF at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Pawhuska is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 80-61 to Frontier. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Pawhuska saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Darien West went 10 of 19 on his way to 22 points along with five assists and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points West has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dax Godsey, who posted 14 points.

Even though they lost, Pawhuska was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Tulsa CHEF was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 67-25 defeat at the hands of Aspire HomeSchool. Tulsa CHEF was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-15.

Tulsa CHEF's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Pawhuska, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Pawhuska barely slipped by Tulsa CHEF when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 43-42. Will Pawhuska repeat their success, or does Tulsa CHEF have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
