Softball Preview: Arlington Spy Ponders vs. Belmont Marauders
Arlington is 10-0 against Belmont since May of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Arlington stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They put the hurt on Winchester with a sharp 16-6 win.
Piper Guiney made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Guiney has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Guiney was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Nora Vartanian was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and a triple. Another player making a difference was Zoe DiAngelis, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, a triple, and a stolen base.
Belmont lost 13-4 to Burlington last Wednesday.
