Basketball Recap: Kiyah Sherman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northeast Guilford over Williams

Northeast Guilford played a tough match on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Williams Bulldogs an easy 61-41 win. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost six in a row.

Northeast Guilford lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kiyah Sherman, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Warden, who put up nine points.

Northeast Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Williams, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Northeast Guilford will take on Chapel Hill in a tournament on December 27th. Chapel Hill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. As for Williams, they will be playing at home against Southern Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Williams' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Southern Alamance has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
