Softball Recap: San Antonio Christian Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for San Antonio Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 16-12 win over the St. Anthony Yellowjackets on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

The team relied heavily on Sydney Smith, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taytum Robert, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

San Antonio Christian's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-6. As for St. Anthony, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

San Antonio Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against St. Anthony: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
