Baseball Recap: Nanih Waiya Comes Up Short

Nanih Waiya managed to slip by French Camp Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Nanih Waiya Warriors lost 15-8 to the French Camp Academy Panthers on Monday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Caysen Dewberry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Nanih Waiya's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Sanjiya Hickman also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Nanih Waiya's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5. As for French Camp Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

While Nanih Waiya had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
