Baseball Preview: Flagstaff Eagles vs. Saguaro Sabercats        
        
		
            
 The Flagstaff Eagles will head out on the road to  square off against  the Saguaro Sabercats at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Flagstaff: 3.9, Saguaro: 2.9) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
 Flagstaff will head into Saturday's  game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big  on Wednesday (they won by ten) but  on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Salpointe Catholic  and snuck past  3-1.
  Connor Iniguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Luke Hewes was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Saguaro entered their tilt with Salpointe Catholic with 16 consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with 17. They skirted past the Lancers  2-1.
 Saguaro also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in:  Cam Caminiti gave up only one earned run on two hits and racked up 17 Ks.
 On the hitting side, Saguaro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Zander Bratspis, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Flagstaff has  been performing  well recently as they've  won 15 of their last 18 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record  this season. As for Saguaro, their victory was  their ninth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 26-3.
 Flagstaff's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's   matchup. Flagstaff has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 4.5  stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Saguaro, though, as  they've been averaging  only 1.3. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Flagstaff continue to outrun the ball?
 Flagstaff might still be hurting after the  10-0 loss they got from Saguaro  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023. Can Flagstaff avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
