Basketball Recap: Queensbury's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to 14

Queensbury had won 13 straight games and Shea Canavan did her part to make it 14 on Wednesday. The Queensbury Spartans walked away with a 48-41 win over the Amsterdam Rams thanks in part to Canavan, who went 9 for 17 on her way to 23 points. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 39 times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Brianna Zehr, who posted four points along with five assists and five boards. Those five assists gave her a new career-high.

Queensbury pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Amsterdam, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.

Queensbury and Amsterdam should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Queensbury will face off against Glens Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Monday up 119 places (91 vs. 210). Similarly, Amsterdam (ranked 157th) will meet Scotia-Glenville (ranked 345th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
