Basketball Game Preview: Gregory-Portland Wildcats vs. Flour Bluff Hornets

Gregory-Portland is 1-9 against Flour Bluff since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Gregory-Portland Wildcats will head out to challenge the Flour Bluff Hornets at 1:00 p.m. Gregory-Portland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 contests -- so hopefully Flour Bluff likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Gregory-Portland came up short against Miller and fell 74-65. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 1017th).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Flour Bluff beat Miller 48-42 on Saturday.

Gregory-Portland's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Flour Bluff, they pushed their record up to 12-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Gregory-Portland didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Flour Bluff in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory. Does Gregory-Portland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Flour Bluff turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
