Steamboat Springs put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the Summit Tigers to the tune of 65-6. For the Sailors, this counts as revenge for the 22-21 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Steamboat Springs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cohen Vanderbosch, who picked up 49 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 32 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Thomas Krupp, who rushed for 85 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Steamboat Springs didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Luke Jordan and Quinten Bongiorno. Bongiorno got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Steamboat Springs' win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Summit, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Steamboat Springs will look to defend their home field on Friday against Eagle Valley at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Sailors 7.2, the Devils 10) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Summit, they will challenge Palisade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 27.8 points per game this season.
