Football Recap: Oakton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Oakton lost against Langley back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars were beaten by the Saxons 35-7. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly 28 points.

Despite the loss, Oakton still got an impressive performance from Jack Martin, who threw for 158 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 71 yards on only nine carries.

Cole Samburg had an outrageously good game for Langley as he threw for 193 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 93.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 63 yards and one score on only eight carries. That's the most passing yards Samburg has posted since back in September of 2024. Leej Evans was another key player, picking up 91 receiving yards and one touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Oakton and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Langley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Oakton is taking a road trip to challenge South Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Langley, they will be playing at home against Wakefield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
