The Ansonia Tigers will take on the Tri-County North Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ansonia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Ansonia's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Franklin Monroe with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Jets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Ansonia got a great performance from Bre Walker as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Miley Walls, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Addie Geyer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Ansonia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Tri-County North didn't have quite enough to beat Arcanum on Wednesday and fell 3-2. The Panthers have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Kasidi Daugherty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Tri-County North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiley Adkins, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Ansonia now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Tri-County North, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ansonia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .376. However, it's not like Tri-County North struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
