Basketball Recap: Adair County Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After a string of four wins, Adair County's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 77-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Oldham Mustangs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (61), the Indians still had to take the loss.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Loy, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 assists. That's the most assists Loy has posted since back in February. Dawson Gilbert was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points.

Adair County's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for North Oldham, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Adair County and Mason County will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. Adair County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Mason County likes a good challenge. As for North Oldham, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
