Basketball Recap: Vari Newson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat John Carroll Catholic

There's no place like home for Jensen Beach, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top against the John Carroll Catholic Rams by a score of 44-32 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Jensen Beach's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vari Newson led the charge by going 6 for 9 en route to 15 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Charlie Alexander, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points.

Newson wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Jensen Beach was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as John Carroll Catholic only racked up seven assists.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathan Jackson, who posted six points. Micah Coleman was another key player, putting up four points.
