Basketball Recap: Foxfire Beats Columbus Torah Academy for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Foxfire entered their tilt with Columbus Torah Academy on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They managed a 48-42 victory over the Columbus Torah Academy Lions. Given the Phoenix's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Lions are ranked 639th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Foxfire was led to victory by Todd Pollock and Nazir Smith. Pollock posted ten points, while Smith put up 16 points. The contest was Smith's tenth in a row with at least ten points.

Foxfire has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Columbus Torah Academy, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-3.

Foxfire will welcome Horizon Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Columbus Torah Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Genoa Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
