Baseball Recap: University Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between University and Fairfax, and University kept the tradition alive. The University Wildcats took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fairfax Lions on Wednesday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Jacob Santos made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Dylan Morales was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

University's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fairfax, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

While University had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
