Volleyball Game Preview: Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers vs. Concord Christian Lions

The Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Concord Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Concord Christian took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Boyd-Buchanan, who comes in off a win.

Boyd-Buchanan was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Collegedale Academy 3-2.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Concord Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to Lakeway Christian Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Concord Christian has suffered since September 11th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-8, 25-16.

Boyd-Buchanan will need to focus on slowing down Manhattan Shuler, one of several Concord Christian players who made an impact when they last played. She had nine digs and seven assists. Katelyn Stooksbury was another key player, getting 12 digs.

Concord Christian's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Boyd-Buchanan, their victory bumped their record up to 12-15.

Boyd-Buchanan beat Concord Christian 3-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2023. Will the Buccaneers repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
