Flag Football Game Preview: Paso Robles Bearcats vs. Lompoc Braves

The Paso Robles Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the Lompoc Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paso Robles' defense has only allowed 9.3 points per game this season, so Lompoc's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Paso Robles is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 38-7 win over Pioneer Valley. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bearcats considering their six-point performance the contest before.

Paso Robles got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Harlem Rickson out in front who threw for 30 yards and three touchdowns, and also caught one TD. Julia Cox was in the mix too, providing the Bearcats with two scores.

Paso Robles didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Pioneer Valley to a completion percentage of just 33.3%. The Bearcats weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 100%.

Paso Robles didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Mekdes Siegrist led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Meanwhile, Lompoc unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 12-7 to San Luis Obispo. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Braves couldn't push the score so high this time.

The win made it two in a row for Paso Robles and bumps their season record up to 4-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 points in those games. As for Lompoc, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.
