Softball Recap: Pinckneyville Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Effingham, Pinckneyville was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Marshall Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pinckneyville's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Marshall, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-7.

Coming up, Pinckneyville will venture away from home to challenge St. Joseph-Ogden at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Marshall, they will take on Mt. Carmel at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Aces have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
