Recap: Hardee Wildcats vs. Fort Meade Miners
The Hardee Wildcats lost a heartbreaker to the Fort Meade Miners when they met back in January of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. Hardee was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Fort Meade. Hardee has struggled against Fort Meade recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Hardee had strong showings from Tylia Graham, who scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds, and Jazlynn Jones, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and six blocks. Graham has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rihanna Frederick, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Hardee has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Fort Meade, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
Hardee will be playing at home against Frostproof at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fort Meade, they will head out on the road to face off against McKeel Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully McKeel Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
