Basketball Recap: Lutheran Comes Up Short

Lutheran had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 80-72 to the Freeport Pretzels on Tuesday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pretzels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.

Freeport's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kazion Morehead, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 25 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Morehead has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Andrew Seward, who went 8-for-13 en route to 19 points and seven boards.

Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-49 defeat against Richwoods on the 26th. As for Freeport, they have also already played their next contest, a 63-53 loss against Chicago Marshall on the 26th.
