Basketball Game Preview: Field Kindley Golden Tornado vs. Labette County Grizzlies

The Field Kindley Golden Tornado will square off against the Labette County Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Field Kindley saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were beaten by Sunrise Christian Academy 64-37. While losing is never fun, the Golden Tornado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Buffaloes are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Labette County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-51 heartbreaker at the hands of Independence.

Field Kindley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Labette County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Field Kindley won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, slipping by Labette County 50-49. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Labette County's Hudson Baker, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards.
